Dean & Britta Remixes, Dean Wareham Memoir

Dean & Britta (ex-Luna members) are releasing a digital remix EP called Variations on January 29. The EP features a selection of tracks from last year’s divine Back Numbers, along with the new song, “Song of You.” The songs are remixed by producer Tony Visconti, My Robot Friend, Sonic Boom, and Britta herself, along with others.
Actual copies of the EP will be available on their tour with Keren Ann, hitting Music Hall of Williamsburg on February 29 and Bowery Ballroom March 1. Dean & Britta put on a wondrous live show; I had the privilege of seeing them at Luna Lounge last year with remixer My Robot Friend as an opener. Incidentally, My Robot Friend has a new album coming out called My Robot High School, and you can check out the first single here, and it’s video here.
In further Dean Wareham news, the prolific ex-Galaxie 500 and ex-Luna frontman will be releasing his memoir with Penguin Press. It’s called Black Postcards: A Rock & Roll Romance and is Wareham’s memoir of his time in both Luna and Galaxie 500. It will be be in stores March 17. You can read an excerpt in the February issue of Men’s Vogue or online here.
