Hercules and Love Affair’s First Show

Hercules and Love Affair finally made their live debut on Saturday night at Studio B in Brooklyn. Although they didn’t go on until 1 a.m., DJs kept the party going until they came on. Although Antony Hegarty wasn’t there to sing with them as he does on their forthcoming album due out in June, singer Nomi filled in just fine. The crowd, which included Michael Pitt of Last Days and Hedwig and the Angry Inch fame (and who has a band of his own called Pagoda), was into it and danced until after 2 a.m. when their set ended. There were a few long pauses between songs–some stage banter would have been nice–but I think for a first show it was pretty damn good.
