Big Apple Music Scene

Introducing….The Cloud Room

by User ImageMike on October 26th, 2007

As a big fan of Bowie, Stone Roses, Joy Division…and basically that whole scene, I’m really diggin’ The Cloud Room as of late. You may have first heard of them a few years ago when they released their self titled album, but they’re making some noise again with big tours and some great new tracks. I haven’t seen them live yet, but I would pay to see these guys live just to see 24 hr Heartbreak live.

The band hasn’t played New York in a while, but following up last years 6 month tour with this year’s 12 month tour, the band is having a breaking year…

They played Poland, Argentina and South Korea.

They toured with Muse - a personal favorite of Brit Music Scene.

They played the Greek Theatre in L.A. - a trip for any band.

The band is currently getting great reviews on their London Tour,

“This New York quintet deal in a brilliant collision of Killers flavoured indie dance and the glorious chaos produced by The Arcade Fire.”

They will be coming back to New York soon and my bet is that they will be playing some of the city’s coolest venues.

Well, I thought you had a actual room over here. I featured “the cloud room” at Offbeat Homes (yup there’s a literal cloud room too) I thought that seemed weird for this blog so I’m glad to see it’s a band. I’ve never heard of them but like Bowie and Stone Roses (NOT Joy Division — sorry) but I might check this band out since you think it’s comparable to all three.

Now I want to check out this actual Cloud Room.

Yeah, you’ll like this band. Go to their MySpace page and have a listen.

    Great to chill to.
