Max Richter at (le) Poisson Rouge

I finally made my way over to the new(ish) venue (le) Poisson Rouge in the West Village. Let me tell you it is niiiice. I love the decor, from the painting on the walls to the cloth covered chairs, and the sight lines and sound are great. This was all helped by the fact that I was seeing the uncomparable Max Richter with a string quintet. The music was so beautiful I found myself emotionally moved several times. My favorite moments came when the entire band was playing together. I was less fond of the pre-recorded bits and especially some kind of weird voice-overs. But all in all his composition is superb and I urge you to check out his final night at (le) Poisson Rouge tonight! Tickets are still on sale.
