Housing Works is hosting a little celebration for Merge Records‘ new book Our Noise. There will be readings from the book and music, of course:

Merge Records founders Mac McCaughan and Laura Ballance will appear to
celebrate the release of Our Noise, John Cook’s detailed look at an
independent record label that has overcome the enormous challenges of
succeeding in the music industry. Mac and Laura, two members of the pop-punk
band Superchunk, will play songs by Merge bands like Arcade Fire, Neutral
Milk Hotel
and Spoon.

It’s this Friday, October 23, at 7 pm at the Housing Works Bookstore & Cafe at 126 Crosby St.
