NY Times Reports on McCarren; Yo La Tengo Playing Last Free Show
The New York Times has an article about the future of McCarren Park Pool…and how it seems like it will be turned back into a pool. Supposedly constructions starts this fall and they hope to open it for summer 2011. So, get your kicks in now. This Sunday’s free show is with King Khan and His Shrines, Deerhunter, and Black Lips and there are three more free shows after that (The Felice Brothers, Eli (Paperboy) Reed, Langhorne Slim and Deer Tick on August 10; Aesop Rock, Chin Chin and Panther on August 17; and Yo La Tengo, Titus Andronicus and Ebony Bones on August 24). There are four paid shows left (Black Keys and Tapes N’ Tapes on Aug. 7; Wilco and Jennifer O’Conner on August 13; Regina Spektor and Albert Hammond Jr. on August 15; and Sonic Youth on August 30.) Woohoo for Yo La Tengo!
