Pitchfork: Saturday, Part I
Pitchfork Music Festival, Chicago, IL July 19-20, 2008
The rain finally stopped at around 2 p.m. and although the sun didn’t exactly come out, at least it was cool and dry. There was plenty of mud to go around though. Saturday at the Pitchfork Music Festival saw some excellent musicians ply their trade. It’s pretty much impossible to see everyone, but I think I did a pretty good job. Here’s who I saw:
Caribou, excellent as usual, started off my day right with cheery beats.
Fleet Foxes were definitely a highlight for me. Their beautiful harmonizing put me in a glorious mood. If you haven’t heard them yet, definitely check out their EP or their new full-length LP. Lovely, intricate music that’s perfect for a summer day.
Dizzee Rascal started off a little pissed because his sound was messed up but he soon got over it and played an energetic set.
But wait, there’s more! Check out the rest of the Pitchfork posts to see more pictures and reviews.
