Possible Oscar for Radiohead’s Greenwood

Radiohead’s Jonny Greenwood is getting ready to release his upcoming soundtrack for Paul Thomas Anderson’s new film There Will Be Blood.
The Radiohead guitarist composed the score for the film as part of his many unique solo projects outside of the experimental rock band.
Paul Thomas Anderson (Magnolia, Hard Eight, Punch Drunk Love) selected the renowned Greenwood for the job and the buzz around the outcome is that he created a “menacing” soundtrack for the film. Greenwood, who acts as composer-in-residence for the BBC Concert Orchestra, recorded the soundtrack with the help of the orchestra.
Speaking about the score, he explained:
“It was all about the underlying menace in the film, the greed, and that against the f**ked-up, oppressive, religious mood.”
The buzz continues with some movie insiders even going as far as saying that Greenwood could pick up an Oscar for his work.
The film is due to release on February 8th, but the soundtrack will be in store’s on December 17th.
There Will Be Blood is an adaptation of the Upton Sinclair novel Oil! and will feature Daniel Day-Lewis as the lead.
