Prefuse 73 Was at the Whitney

ACME and Prefuse 73 played a Wordless Music Series show at the Whitney Museum on Friday night. ACME’s first composition was very nice, a piece with Asian influence. The second song was a drum piece played by just one guy and it was kind of painful to listen to: no beat or rhythm whatsoever. Thankfully, I survived being squished between a million people in a tiny space (can’t they have it one of the galleries??) and ended up getting one of the twenty-or-so seats for Prefuse 73. He was great, as usual. I think this Friday night series is a good idea, but the Whitney needs to work on the space…it is pretty horrible. This Friday they will have ACME and Times New Viking. If you want to go and be somewhat comfortable, get there early (6 p.m. for the 7 p.m. show).
