Grizzly Bear are playing a benefit concert with Violens on August 9 at Music Hall of Williamsburg. Proceeds will benefit The Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation Flood Relief. Tickets go on sale Thursday at noon.

Motown-tinged Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, who put out one of my favorite albums of 2007, are playing at the Beacon Theatre on February 15. Tickets go on sale Friday. Also, Sharon Jones is in the movie The Great Debaters that opened Christmas Day. Anyone seen it yet?
