In case you haven’t heard, Santi White, better known as Santogold, has changed changed her stage name to Santigold. Now that we’ve got that out of the way, I can tell you the exciting news that according to New York Magazine, Santigold will be playing the opening of the new TopShop store (on Broadway and Broome) on April 1 (finally!) along with Mark Ronson and Lady Gaga for free. Sadly, like she mentioned, Little Boots will not be there.

If you don’t feel like dealing with the crowds that wil likely be there, you can wait until June 9 when she plays Terminal 5. Tickets go on sale TODAY at noon.

Meat Puppets, Dinosaur Jr., and Built to Spill at Terminal 5

Three giants of the nineties played two nights at Terminal 5 on Thursday and Friday: Meat Puppets, Dinosaur Jr., and Built to Spill. I was at the show on Friday and much to my disappointment I missed the Meat Puppets who went on at 7:30 p.m. I did see all of Dinosaur Jr.’s set, who were excellent. But the real thrill for me was seeing Built to Spill perform their seminal album Perfect From Now On. They played the album all the way through with excellent jams and Doug Martsch wailing perfectly. After they finished they played a few more favorites, like “The Plan” and “Carry the Zero.” The best part of the night was when J. Mascis of Dinosaur Jr. and members of the Meat Puppets came out on stage to play with Built to Spill for almost 30 minutes. They all seemed to be enjoying themeselves immensely, especially the Meat Puppet boys who were joking around a lot. Not sure what happened to Lou Barlow…I guess he had to head out early. Lots more photos after the jump. Read more
