The Graduates

by Devorah Klein on November 7th, 2008

Last night I went to see the premiere of a new indie movie, The Graduates. The film takes place in Ocean City, MD during Senior Week, when all the graduating high school seniors go to the beach for a week to party and try and get laid and focuses on four friends and their adventures. I was excited to see the movie for two reasons: 1) I am from Maryland originally and very familiar with Ocean City and Senior Week and 2) The soundtrack was supposed to be chock full of New York indie bands, as the director now lives in NYC. As the producer says. “The film represents a revolutionary partnership arrangement between indie movies and indie bands, including profit-sharing and publicity efforts.” The soundtrack features songs by Plushgun, Mad Tea Parties, and 13 others. The music really was a great fit with the movie and one of my favorite scenes (shows the boys riding bumper cars and playing skeeball) was greatly enhanced by the music. So, check out the movie when it screens near you and buy the soundtrack! More info can be found at the film’s website.

yah, I was at this. Movie was hysterical. Like Boogie Nights with the soundtrack stuff.
